I bought this book from Amazon for my husband and he was very happy with it. He was constantly telling me things he was reading even tho I plan to read it also. We have a Golden and he is almost human and we see so much in him that is in the book. The book is amazing and I would recomend it to anyone who is interested in dogs or mainly the healing powers they posses. I know some of it sounds unreal, especially to the ones who don't want to believe in them, but I have seen things in real life that are talked about here in this book. What my husband liked about it was all the separate stories so he could lay it down and go back later because when he started one of the stories, he didn't want to stop until he had read it all. I imagine this book will be read again and again. Very interesting book.Product details

Interesting read for anyone who has benefitted from the companionship of a great dog.
Very usefull and great explanations
Very good reading for all ages!! and very comforting as well, it is a book that can be enjoyed and re read many times, gives
one much to consider
While I have read better books on dogs, this one will touch your heart in a few places throughout the book. I especially was moved when she wrote of military dogs.
Despite the author's mention of being a 'journalist' more than once, and her publication of at least another book or two, this book isn't written all that well. Maybe her editor was asleep. However, the subject matter is so compelling. The author writes about service dogs, therapy dogs, and military dogs (not as much as she writes about the first two types, but there's still quite a story about one dog and his owner in the book). She also writes about the medical establishment's slow acceptance of therapy dogs (including cancer sniffing dogs, epileptic and other types of 'attack-sensing' dogs. There are some amazing stories in the book, along with a lot of photos in the middle, so you can 'put a face to the name' of most of the people and their dogs whom she writes about.
This was a touching book telling about the organiztion and use of Therapy Dogs. It amazed me what the author was able to accomplish, helping so many people in a relatively short time, using pets. It is wonderful when people see and need and then do something to fill it. I bought this copy as a gift for a fellow pet lover.
