Yigdal-Ben-Levy used to be the Mossad spymaster, but now he’s Israel’s Assistant Foreign Minister in D.C., exiled and long out of the game of spying. Not enough to stop the world war that’s about to happen.
The risk? Monumental. The cost if they don’t succeed? A Chinese takeover of America’s power grid, followed by a military invasion and a division of US land down the Mississippi. I liked this the best so far.
At first, the idea of Russia and China's leaders dividing up the United States may seem far-fetched. But, Hitler planned to conquer the world, and today's Putin is confronting and provoking for the greater glory of Mother Russia. Our own Trump talks like a loose cannon - who knows what he would actually do? Hmmm....not all that far-fetched after all.
As always, the techno aspects are fun for me, especially since D S is at least right up to date and sometimes a step ahead. The power grid takedown possibility is a current news item (look up what Ted Koppel is doing these days). And the Internet, while not "power" per se, is a communication and control necessity - on a personal level, think about the Internet Of Things (IOT), coming soon to a smartphone/garage door near you. Then look up MAE-East and MAE-West. So, tech is one way D S keeps me engrossed.
The other, more in this book than I remember in any of the others, is the switching among multiple simultaneous timelines. I actually enjoy having to keep track of four or five different chains of events more than following one or two groups. This could be an entirely personal preference - your results may vary. And, he does a great job of keeping up the tension - he's getting better at that. You don't know what the next step will be, because the characters don't know what their next step will be. D S, in his plotting, adheres to character Avram Schimmel's favorite mantra - "A battle plan survives only until first contact with the enemy".
I can be nasty critical - I have put down, unfinished, books by Joyce Carol Oates, Lee Child (Jack Reacher), and Ed McBain (87th Precinct). I finished a David Baldacci (Will Robie), but felt "mehh". Not bragging - I just don't like to waste time. This novel isn't great literature, just good entertainment. It kept me up way past bedtime two nights in a row, and that's a pretty strong endorsement.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review. This book is trying to explain and tell old school marketers about the new age and how it will help improve the aspects of the new age.
Interesting spy novel with action at every turn of the page. Plot is unlikely but not impossible. I wont more!
So many twists and turns, are they going to make it. You Wil be unable to put down this book till the end.
I did something that I have enjoyed very much,I made the time to read this excellent series one book after another. Please find the time to do this, you will not be disappointed.
I like the book as a whole and the plot was interesting. A large amount of turns and jumping to different characters did make it a book which requires a little bit more attention by the reader.
